One killed in early Memorial Day shooting in Denver

Denver police are investigating a fatal Monday morning shooting in the Central Park neighborhood.

One man was killed in front of a hotel on the 3800 block of North Quebec Street, said Denver Police Department spokesman Doug Schepman. The shooting happened around 6:38 a.m. Monday.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died. He was later identified as Aarick Wilson, 38, by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner. The office found the cause of Wilson’s death to be a gunshot wound and the manner to be homicide.

Police are still investigating and trying to develop suspect information, Schepman said.
