    Marijuana legalization hits roadblocks after years of expansion

    Lawmakers in several states this year have targeted marijuana in various ways.
    Native Roots has operated three "gas and grass" dispensary-gas station hybrid locations in Colorado Springs since 2015. But until recently, they could only sell to medical patients. In April 2025, Colorado's second-largest city began allowing recreational marijuana sales. Anyone aged 21 and up can now stop by Native Roots to fill up their car and stash.
