Denver apartments’ unreliable water taps, roach infestations and overflowing garbage spur change in Colorado law

State’s safe-housing law now requires quicker responses from landlords under changes this month

Colorado lawmakers were spurred on in part by conditions at the Felix, a southeast Denver apartment complex, when they tightened the state's law governing safe and clean housing this month by passing a bill that Gov. Jared Polis has signed. Residents have detailed several problems they experienced with their landlord.
