One person was killed and two others injured in an Aurora parking lot shooting Wednesday night, police said.
Aurora officers responded to the shooting at 1155 South Havana St. at about 8:33 p.m. Wednesday, near where the street intersects with East Mississippi Avenue, according to a news release from the police department.
That address is home to the Market Square at Mississippi and Havana Shopping Center, which contains a King Soopers, a Dollar Tree, multiple restaurants, a liquor store and a preschool.
When officers arrived, they found two men who had been shot, according to the news release.
One man died from his injuries in the parking lot, police said. He was identified Thursday as James Michael Young, 43, by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office. Paramedics took the second man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers later found a woman who was also shot had arrived at the hospital by private vehicle, police said. She remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police said all of the victims were adults. As of Thursday morning, no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested.
