A grass fire burning along Interstate 225 near the Regional Transportation District’s Dayton station in Aurora was quickly contained Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

Smoke and flames were visible from the highway, but no structures are threatened and no injuries have been reported, according to Aurora Fire Rescue.

The fire was reported at around 1:15 p.m. and grew to roughly a quarter of an acre before firefighters brought it under control at 1:30 p.m.

Aurora fire officials are investigating the cause, the agency said.
