A Wednesday night shooting in Aurora’s Morris Heights neighborhood left one man dead and a teenager in the hospital, police said.

Aurora officers responded to a shooting in the 3100 block of Ursula Street just before 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the police department.

When they arrived, officers found two people had been shot: an 18-year-old from Wheat Ridge and a 17-year-old from Denver, police said.

Paramedics took both victims to the hospital, where the 18-year-old later died from his injuries, according to a Thursday morning update from Aurora police officials. He will be identified by the Adams County Coroner's Office.

The 17-year-old is expected to survive, police said.

No suspects had been identified or arrested as of Thursday afternoon.
