Westbound Interstate 70 was closed for a period Thursday morning near Vail for a multi-vehicle crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The westbound interstate was closed between exit 190 for Vail Pass Summit and exit 180 for East Vail, about one mile west of Copper Mountain, CDOT officials said. It reopened at about 8:11 a.m. Wednesday.
Cameras in the area of the crash at 7 a.m. showed snow-packed roads and multiple emergency vehicles blocking the westbound lanes.
It’s unknown what caused the crash and how many cars were involved.
